I was treated well, I felt listened to and the treatment received was excellent. All the staff were excellent and professional and treated me as an individual. The only thing that could improve is to be offered a hot drink on the ward. I was only offered one cup of tea and I asked for that with my breakfast.

From the very first meeting I was put totally at ease by the doctor and particularly by the fact he had obviously read up my notes before the consultation, rather than sitting and reading through them while I was there, which has happened with other consultants. It makes you feel that he has more interest in you as an individual rather than just another item on the list he has to work through. While I appreciate all consultants are under a lot of pressure to get through the backlog, he seemed to be happy to give you that bit of extra time. During that initial and subsequent meetings, he always explained things in a way that was very clear, not too many technicalities, so that I understood exactly what was going to happen. In all a very relaxing and confidence building experience and the final result more than justified that, in so far as I have no more issues with the problems I had.

I have had 2 operations performed by Mr Subramanian in the last three years. Investigations into each problem were extensive and I really felt I was being treated by a very knowledgeable and competent consultant and in both cases the results of surgery have been very pleasing . Having been in pain for a number of years, I can't express the relief of feeling that intense pain is now behind me . Mr Subramanium has extraordinary skills and anyone needing back surgery I would highly recommend him and I personally wouldn't want to have to see any other back surgeon.
